1. Non-Custodial Core Architecture

PocketPadi Technologies Ltd ("PocketPadi", "we", "our", or "us") operates the PocketPadi personal finance and household envelope budgeting platform. Our foundational principle is strictly non-custodial: we provide software tools to help Ghanaian individuals, families, and businesses track, organize, and pace their money.

We do not hold customer deposits, we do not operate pooled settlement accounts, and we cannot move or transfer funds on your behalf. Because PocketPadi never holds your funds, our data protection focus is uniquely centered on safeguarding your telemetry, privacy, and confidential ledger balances.

2. Republic of Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843)

PocketPadi processes personal data in strict compliance with the statutory principles established under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of the Republic of Ghana:

  • Accountability: We ensure all processing operations are recorded, audited, and secured under certified technical standards.
  • Lawfulness of Processing: We collect and process personal data exclusively with your explicit consent or to fulfill software services requested by you.
  • Specification of Purpose: Data collected for budgeting, envelope pacing, and receipt record-keeping is never repurposed for unannounced commercial initiatives.
  • Data Quality & Proportionality: We limit our data collection to the absolute minimum necessary to run your financial ledger.
  • Openness & Security Safeguards: We maintain complete transparency regarding our storage practices and implement bank-grade encryption across all data layers.

3. Information We Collect

When you use PocketPadi via our web application, Mobile Money integrations, or automated WhatsApp assistant, we collect the following categories of information:

A. Account Identity & Credentials

Full name, verified Ghanaian telephone number (+233), email address, and a cryptographically salted and hashed authentication PIN.

B. User-Entered Financial Ledger Records

Transactions you manually log or approve: transaction amount in Ghana Cedis (GH₵), localized category tags (e.g., Chop Money, ECG Electricity, Trotro Fare, School Fees), timestamp, merchant note, and designated funding bucket (e.g., MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, Bank Account, Physical Cash).

C. Subscription & Billing Verification

Subscription plan identifiers (Starter Free, Solo GH₵ 10, Household GH₵ 20), billing renewal date, and transaction reference tokens provided by our licensed payment processor (Paystack). PocketPadi never stores raw payment card numbers or MoMo wallet credentials.

4. Information We NEVER Collect or Request

To guarantee your financial autonomy, PocketPadi architecture fundamentally prevents us from ever requesting or storing:

  • Your 4-digit Mobile Money PIN: We will never ask for your MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, or AT Money PIN.
  • Your Online Banking Password or OTP: We never request bank login details or temporary SMS one-time pins.
  • Debit / Credit Card CVV Numbers: All subscription authorizations are handled directly within Paystack's PCI-DSS Level 1 secure vault.
  • Direct Custodial Withdrawal Access: We cannot initiate outgoing wire transfers, cashouts, or debits from your private accounts.
Security Notice: Any individual or message claiming to represent PocketPadi that asks for your Mobile Money PIN is fraudulent. Report incidents immediately to security@mypocketpadi.com.

5. How We Use Your Information

We process your data strictly to execute the functional features of your PocketPadi software license:

  • Real-Time Dynamic Pacing: Calculating safe daily spend limits and notifying you before mid-month envelope depletion.
  • Payday Surplus Calculation: Spotting leftover unspent funds prior to your next designated salary date.
  • Household Synchronization: Aggregating shared expenses to the joint Padi Household Wall according to member permission matrices.
  • Account Security: Verifying authentication attempts and preventing unauthorized device access.
  • Customer Support: Assisting you via WhatsApp (055 517 8466) or email when you request setup or billing assistance.

6. Zero Monetization Guarantee

Unlike legacy fintechs and ad-supported platforms, PocketPadi is funded entirely by transparent software subscriptions (GH₵ 10 / GH₵ 20 per month). Because our customers pay us directly for software quality:

✔ We do NOT sell your transaction records to data brokers, ad networks, or loan aggregators.

✔ We do NOT use your spending patterns to profile you for predatory micro-loan advertisements.

✔ We do NOT monetize your personal identity with third-party marketing companies.

7. Encryption & Technical Security Standards

PocketPadi deploys layered security controls matching international financial software standards:

  • Transport Layer Security: All communications between your browser or phone and our application servers are encrypted using 256-bit TLS 1.3 cryptographic protocols.
  • Database Protection: User financial logs are stored in secure relational databases with AES-256 volume encryption and continuous automated snapshot backups.
  • Credential Hashing: PINs and session tokens are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt algorithms with individual cryptographic salts. Plaintext PINs are never stored.
  • CSRF & Injection Defense: All API and form inputs are protected by cross-site request forgery tokens and strict parameter binding.

8. Household Wall Privacy & Confidentiality

PocketPadi Household accounts enable couples and families to coordinate domestic expenses (groceries, school fees, utilities) without sacrificing individual dignity:

  • Strict Segregation: Personal envelopes (personal savings, gifts, private trotro expenses) remain 100% confidential to your individual login.
  • Explicit Joint Allocation: Only transactions specifically categorized into a shared domestic envelope are visible on the Household Wall.
  • Separate Login Credentials: Household members log in with their own private phone numbers and security PINs.

9. Data Retention & Right to Erasure (Google Play & Act 843 Compliant)

Under Section 35 of the Republic of Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and Google Play Store User Data Policies, you maintain complete ownership of your personal data and the unconditional right to be forgotten:

Data Export: You may export a complete archive of your transaction history and category summaries in CSV format at any time from your account settings.
